Stacy Melvin is a Director with The Chartis Group and Leader of its Performance Practice Area. Ms. Melvin has over 20 years of experience in the healthcare provider industry, and is a nationally recognized expert in operations design and performance improvement, healthcare information technology, and activation and transition planning for new facilities. Of particular note is her extensive experience and expertise in assisting leading healthcare delivery systems in achieving excellence in their physician practice and ambulatory operations.
Additionally, she is experienced in developing and implementing financial sustainability plans, facilitating merger and acquisition integration efforts, planning for and activating new facilities, and supporting organizations in achieving sustainable transformation and change. Ms. Melvin combines her deep expertise in performance improvement, operational and clinical transformation, and healthcare information technology to provide unique and innovative solutions for her clients as they work to address complex problems and advance healthcare. She has served as a strategic advisor to more than 75 provider organizations, including leading academic medical centers, integrated health systems, children’s hospitals, and ambulatory care and physician organizations.
Prior to joining The Chartis Group, Ms. Melvin served as a practice leader for Kurt Salmon, a leading healthcare consulting firm, where she most recently led the healthcare information technology practice. Ms. Melvin’s healthcare industry experience also includes roles in hospital administration for several large health systems and major teaching hospitals. She also has been a frequent speaker at industry conferences and has written extensively for industry publications.
Ms. Melvin is a graduate of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she received a Master of Healthcare Administration and a Bachelor of Arts with honors and distinction. She has also completed a Lean Sigma Green Belt Certification Course at Johns Hopkins Medicine.
